Description
Pharma-Cruiting Life Sciences Executive Search is seeking a Vice President/Director of Pharma Research & Business Development for our Oncology Personalized Medicine client to bring breakthrough discoveries in oncology treatment to industry, clinicians, and patients.
The incumbent will be responsible for uncovering new drug development/companion diagnostic opportunities in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry and already have an established network of key decision makers to leverage new business with these prospects. The successful candidate will also need to proactively network to create new relationships to maximize corporate growth. The business development aspect will involve scientist-to-scientist prospecting and contractual development, as well as acting as a liaison with scientists and industry prospects seeking collaborations.
In addition, the Vice President/Director will have a hands-on role in the technical implementation of the client’s product development, analytical/clinical validation programs, as well as execution of tumor profiling projects and signature development.
Experience Required:
· The ideal candidate will be a Ph.D molecular oncology leader, preferably in a chemotherapeutic drug & companion diagnostic development environment.
· 10 years + senior level management experience in scientific, research and validation, early stage development projects.
· Business development experience in vitro/in vivo diagnostic in tissue-based, gene-expression Molecular Biology/Oncology.
· Experience with microarray platform technology, cell-line studies, FFPE and fresh tissue, RNA extraction, statistical analysis, and signature development in both predictive chemotherapy response and pathway activation.
· Must be well published in related oncologic, molecular, therapeutic and diagnostic journals as well as a scientific credible professional, well-read, articulate scientific/technical speaker.
· Experience also required in managing bioinformatics and statistical aspects of Pharmaceutical projects
· Technical writing/reviewing of CLIA, GLP, CMS, FDA, ASCO, ACLA, SOPS & Clinical Guidelines
· Demonstrate strong interpersonal and business development skills and have experience engaging with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, managed care, FDA, key opinion leaders, and advocacy groups.
· Must be able to travel and attend, work, and speak at cancer conferences
