Storage Engineer II – NetBackup - TSM

NetBackup and TSM skills are a must!

Up to $83K

Responsibilities:

-Support shared and dedicated Netbackup or TSM environments for customers

-Ensure service availability and reliability

-Monitor daily health of Netbackup or TSM server environments

-Update Customer Design Requirements documentation as required

-Participate in multiple projects and shifting workloads

-Participate on projects providing technical expertise for the success of the project

-Provide post-implementation support

-Train/mentor junior staff members as appropriate

-Provide sales support as directed

-Ensure client satisfaction with services provided

-Act as Tier 2 escalation support to solve product and services problems related to NetBackup or TSM, tape libraries, and media in the data centers and on customer’s host systems 

-React and respond to day-to-day problems and changes related to storage administration, including but not limited to: Disk space, Data Backup and Recovery, Disaster Recovery,  Netbackup or TSM missed and failed backups

-Provide immediate escalation of critical client problems that may become serious service delivery issues or may be reported to executive management.

-Perform tape backup installations, provisioning, troubleshooting and decommissioning

Must Requirements:

-College degree BA or BS in relevant field (Computer Science, Management Information Systems) or equivalent Technical School training or equivalent work experience that includes appropriate training courses

-Customer service experience

-Experience providing services with a data center outsourcer, managed services provider, or web hosting business.

-3-5 years experience providing storage administration services to clients in Solaris, AIX and/or Windows operating environments

-Demonstrated in depth knowledge of enterprise backup solutions installation, maintenance, and general support

-Understanding of Network topologies

-Ability to make quick decisions and distribute tasks appropriately across team

-Extensive problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

-Ability to facilitate discussions to resolve technical issues with multiple teams

-Team player who can lead or follow as necessary.

-Experience dealing with IT audits such as ISO and SAS-70

-Excellent written and verbal skills

-Ability to participate in off-hours and weekend support

-Ability to effectively deal with change

-Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple demands at once

-Must possess strong interpersonal skills in order to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

-Excellent organizational and time management skills

Preferred Requirements:

-Experience with installation, maintenance, and general support of NetBackup or TSM servers and clients and related software products

-Experience backing up  SAN or NAS storage environments

-Experience with financial industry IS/IT requirements for security & business continuity

-Experience developing, documenting and socializing systems or business management processes

-Experience with ISO 2001, TQM or other Industry Standard process management methodologies

-Netbackup or TSM certification, MCSE

-PERL, KORN Shell scripting
