Description

The Electrical Systems Manager will report directly to the SVP of Engineering and be a key member of an aggressive product development team focused on developing and commercializing fuel cell based micro CHP systems. As part of a multidisciplinary team, this team leader will be responsible for design and test of all electrical aspects in a fuel cell power plant. Ensuring all applicable code compliance will be another important aspect of this role.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • The Electrical Systems Manager shall be responsible and coordinate all aspects of design, development and integration of electrical systems in our clients micro-CHP systems.
  • Generating and managing electrical one-line and three-line diagrams.
  • Leading systems analysis and related trade studies to identify optimum electrical system design
  • Defining appropriate top-down controls architecture
  • Developing specifications, selection and characterization of DC/DC converters, DC/AC inverters. Work closely with suppliers for custom design of specific components to achieve best of the class efficiency and reliability.
  • Designing multiunit load sharing architecture for our clients micro-CHP products
  • PCB layout for developed designs
  • Selecting appropriate components for the target design, ranging from associated hardware (connectors) to CPU systems
  • Document designs with written theory of operation descriptions and interface design specifications as required
  • System design, analysis, and specification including FPGA design and simulation
  • Detailed analog & digital design.
  • Verification and documentation for production release.
  • Providing guidance/support and provide technical assistance to Field Services Engineering group.

Qualifications:
  • BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related area.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Proficient with codes and standards for fuel cells and other DG products
  • Ability to carry a product design from conception into production
  • Hands-on hardware design experience with analog and digital design solutions
  • Experience with engineering test equipment - logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, communication bus analyzers, etc.
  • Familiarity with modern design process and tools (Altium, Protel, Orcad, Xilinx, etc.)
  • Project planning and execution
  • Ability to manage a team of highly skilled engineers and technicians
  • Excellent communication skills
