Description
Precision machine shop seeking an experienced quality lead to uphold quality assurance objectives and promote best practices throughout the shop.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform first article inspections to ensure machine setups, utility operations, and assemblies will result in parts that meet all customer specifications.
- Review and perform in-process inspections as needed to ensure operators have all relevant information to produce parts to specifications.
- Perform final inspections of completed products to ensure all customer specifications have been met.
- Review and signoff work orders, providing paperwork and information related to quality assurance.
- Program and operate CMM (Micro-Vu Vertex Measuring Center).
- Modify manufacturing and assembly plans as process improvements are made.
- Review new assemblies and aid in developing procedures; create assembly instructions as needed.
- Write and follow up on preventive and corrective actions; maintain records in database and filing system.
- Ensure that inspection tools are calibrated per quality policy and maintain calibration database.
- Train shop personnel in proper inspection techniques and requirements. - Operate CNC lathes and mills as needed
Job Skills/Experience:
- Experience using common machine shop inspe ion devices (i.E. Micromet thread gages, height gages, optical comparator).
- Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles.
- Working knowledge of CMM operation and programming (specific experience with Micro-Vu Vertex Measuring Center is a plus).
- Experience creating and resolving non-conformance material reports
- Experience with ISO 9001 standards is a plus.
- Able to create high quality, easy to read, assembly work instructions.
- Self-managed, requiring little supervision.
- Capable of setting up and/or operating CNC lathes and mills is a plus.
